How to Become an Explorer

If you are interested in becoming a medical explorer and would like to apply, please submit a completed application and the following items:

• A $50 annual registration fee, which includes all on-site, hospital-sponsored activities, as well as uniforms
• An official school transcript
• An academic recommendation from your school counselor
• A parent/guardian signature on the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Medical Explorer Standards and Bylaws document, which you can print out, sign, and send to us

Additionally, you must be at least 14-years-old and must have completed 8th grade by the time you begin the program.
