Kara is a nurse practitioner with the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Center for Heart Failure. She works with the inpatient Heart Failure Team.
Kara received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She then worked in critical care before going on to complete her graduate work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Rochester in New York. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Kara joined the team at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute in November 2005. She has a special interest in heart transplantation and cardiovascular disease in women. She is a member of the Heart Failure Society of America and has served on the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Standard Setting Panel.
