Northwestern's Vice President of Communications Will Lead American Hospital Association's Healthcare Strategy in 2013
Holli Salls, Northwestern Memorial Hospital vice president of public relations, marketing and physician services has been elected as 2012 president-elect of the board of directors by the members of the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD). SHSMD is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association. Salls will become president of the 4,000-member organization of healthcare strategy professionals on January 1, 2013.
Salls serves as Northwestern Memorial’s senior brand leader, managing a broad portfolio of corporate services. Since joining the hospital in 2000, she has developed an integrated approach for the hospital’s internal and external communications, marketing, public relations, and physician relations programs. In addition, Salls oversees the hospital’s corporate identity standards, reputation management, consumer website, physician outreach, conference center, archives, special events and arts programs.
A member of SHSMD since 1996, Salls is a member of the SHSMD board of directors and the Finance Committee. A frequent speaker and track leader at SHSMD Annual Conferences, she chaired the Annual Conference Planning Committee in 2010 and served as its vice-chair in 2009. In addition, she has been a member of the Marketing Ethics Task Force (2010), the Futurescan Task Force (2010), and the Nominating Committee (2009), and she has served as board liaison to the Advocacy and Emerging Issues Committee (2008).
