We understand that referring physicians entrust Northwestern Memorial Hospital with the care of their patients. Our physicians believe that patients are best served by having seamless and continuous communication between Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and the referring physician practices.

Physician Access Line
To learn more about our Model System for spinal cord injury call our Physician Access Line (PAL) at 1-800-638-3737 or email the Physician Referral department. Representatives are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
The Physician Access Line is a resource line for physicians staffed by Northwestern Memorial employees dedicated to our Patients First mission. PAL provides assistance with:
- Identifying physicians for referrals
- Facilitating physician-to-physician communication
- Providing information on inpatient admissions
- Communicating with bilingual patients
