Tests
Based on the clinical symptoms such as severe headache or neurological problems, the following tests may be used to diagnose an AVM:
- Neurologic exam
- Computed tomography scan (CT/CTA)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI/MRA)
- Functional MRI
- Lumbar puncture or spinal tap
- Cerebral angiography
Additional tests may be performed to help determine the risk of treatment such as:
- Language comprehension
- Speech production
- Sensation/Touch
- Other tasks
