Celebrate February "American Heart Month" with the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute!
Since 1963, Congress has required the president to proclaim February "American Heart Month" in recognition of the ongoing fight against cardiovascular disease in the United States. Because cardiac and vascular disease (including stroke) remains the nation's leading cause of permanent disability and premature death, you owe it to yourself to increase your awareness of cardiovascular disease through a variety of educational events scheduled in February in conjunction with the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute.
