Complicated Perineal Injury/Tears from Childbirth

Understanding that the postpartum period is very challenging for a new mother, we offer a clinic designed specifically for women who may require specialized care during this time. The clinic is intended for women in the early postpartum period who may have experienced a significant tear or episiotomy at delivery, new urinary or fecal incontinence, difficulty emptying their bladder or other postpartum issues. Patients are assessed and treated by one of our urogynecologists as early as the day after hospital discharge. Ongoing care is often coordinated with the patient’s primary obstetrician.
