Whether you're not feeling well or you've got a minor injury, and you think you should see a doctor but you don't need emergency care, Northwestern Memorial's Convenient Care may be the place for you. We cater to people who either don't have a primary care doctor or cannot get in to see their doctor on short notice by providing same-day appointments for patients with non-emergency illnesses and injuries.
A better option for same-day care
Our new Convenient Care at the Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness fills a need for the many people who do not have a physician. When people do not have a primary care physician or cannot get in to see one, they tend to ignore their symptoms or injuries and hope they'll go away, or they seek emergency care for non-emergencies. According to Melinda Ring, medical director at Northwestern Memorial's Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness, "Convenient Care offers a better alternative through same-day appointments with trusted physicians and nurse practitioners."
Types of illness and injury we treat
Doctors and nurses at Convenient Care treat a wide-variety of non-life-threatening medical conditions, including, but not limited to:
- Symptoms associated with colds, flus and other viruses
- Mild allergic reactions
- Pink eye
- Strep throat and other infections
- Sprains and muscle strains
- Cuts and sores
The clinic also offers annual physicals and preventive care health screenings.
Making an appointment
Convenient Care at the Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness does not accept walk-in appointments. Instead, patients are asked to call and schedule same-day appointments, which are offered in 15 minute increments throughout the day. This allows patients to be treated quickly upon arrival, eliminating the long wait times that are often associated with walk-in clinics. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 312-926-DOCS (3627).
Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to Noon.
150 East Huron St., Suite 1100
Phone: 312-926-DOCS (3627)
Please note: The clinic is located in the Avenue Hotel Office door, across the street from hospital.
Finding a primary care physician
Getting regular check-ups and preventive health screenings plays an important role in managing your overall health. We encourage all patients to establish a relationship with a primary care physician. If patients do not have a primary care physician, staff at the Convenient Care clinic will happily refer them to someone and encourage them to return for a well-visit in the future.
If you don't have a physician, and you'd like to make a first-time appointment with one of the healthcare providers at Northwestern Memorial, you may call our Physician Referral Line at 1-877-926-4664 or request an appointment online.
