Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Enter into Exclusive Affiliation Discussions
Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare announced today they are entering into exclusive discussions to explore an affiliation.
Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare is the corporate parent of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, which recently opened a new state-of-the-art acute care hospital that incorporates the latest trends in healthcare facility design and some of the area’s most advanced technology. Northwestern Memorial HealthCare is the corporate parent of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital; a nationally recognized academic medical center hospital and a leader in quality programs, community health initiatives and consumer preference.
“Northwestern Memorial and Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare share a strong commitment to and culture of providing quality care to patients throughout our region,” said Dean M. Harrison, president and chief executive officer, Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. “Partnering with strong organizations like Elmhurst Memorial will help us better serve patients and the community. Our affiliation would provide EMH and its patients sophisticated on-site clinical programs and increased access to Northwestern’s advanced specialty services, clinical trials and research programs.”
“Northwestern Memorial is unsurpassed in providing leading-edge advancements in medicine in addition to outstanding care to patients,” said W. Peter Daniels, president and chief executive officer, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare. “This affiliation would offer us a unique opportunity to become a destination provider in the western suburbs of Chicago with regionally significant and distinctive clinical programs.”
Due to the confidential nature of the discussion, additional details are not available at this time. We anticipate this next phase of the discussion to be complete within several months.
