Who We Are
Our Program and team are part of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, which is the academic multispecialty clinical practice of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. We are affiliated with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and practice at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
We work closely with our Northwestern colleagues and your primary care physician to ensure that your condition and treatment is understood by everyone involved in your care, and that any other conditions that may require evaluation are addressed.

Pushing the Boundaries of Medicine
In addition to the care we provide to our patients, our Program team is engaged in improving the science and technique of treating thyroid and other endocrine surgical disorders with our colleagues at the Feinberg School of Medicine.
As faculty members of the Feinberg School of Medicine, both Dr. Sturgeon and Dr. Elaraj are actively engaged in providing outstanding and cutting-edge treatment of endocrine surgical disorders today and are working towards new and better ways of addressing these conditions in the future.
The Feinberg School of Medicine has a rich history of basic and clinical science innovation, which our Program both benefits from and contributes to. Scholarly publications from both Dr. Sturgeon and Dr. Elaraj are accessible on their faculty profile pages.
In addition to Dr. Sturgeon and Dr. Elaraj, our Program is supported by a team of nurses that are committed to your care, including Colleen Krantz, RN, and Roseann Almeida, RN, who have both worked with the department for more than ten years and also have experience supporting the department's general and bariatric surgery services.
