Research shows Magnet hospitals report fewer patient falls, less medication error, lower mortality and higher patient and family satisfaction. Magnet hospitals tend to have lower nursing turnover and improved nurse work environment. Northwestern Memorial Hospital was awarded Magnet recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2006.
