Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Center for Women's Cardiovascular Health Hosts First Annual Patient Symposium
Conference brings together top women’s cardiovascular health experts for educational event
The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute’s Center for Women’s Cardiovascular Health will host its first annual symposium: Heart Health – What Smart Women Need to Know on Wednesday, February 20. The event will provide women with the latest information on heart health, as well as tips to prevent heart disease, the leading cause of death among women.
The event will be held from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the new Prentice Women’s Hospital located at 250 E. Superior Street in the third floor conference center. Registration is $20.00 and includes lectures, reference materials, discounted parking and breakfast.
Cardiologists specializing in women’s heart health will address a wide range of topics including
* Menopausal hormone therapy
* Integrative approaches to heart health
* Belly fat and body shape
* Exercise and heart disease symptoms
Presenters will include Marla Mendelson, MD, medical director of the Center for Women’s Cardiovascular Health, Stephen Devries, MD, preventative cardiologist at the Center for Integrative Medicine, Martha Gulati, MD, associate medical director of the Women’s Center for Cardiovascular Health, Vera Rigolin, MD, associate medical director of the Women’s Center for Cardiovascular Health, Robert Kushner, MD, professor of medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and Nanette Wenger, MD, chief of cardiology at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
