Biographical Sketch:

Colleen is a nurse coordinator for the Bicuspid Aortic Valve Program at Northwestern’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. As the nurse resource for this patient population, Colleen provides professional nursing care for both surgical and non-surgical patients in the Bicuspid Aortic Valve Program. The Bicuspid Aortic Valve Program provides comprehensive care for those patients (and their first-degree relatives) requiring screening, treatment and long-term follow up care for BAV.

Colleen began her career at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ where she worked as a staff nurse in the surgical intensive care unit. In 2007, Colleen became a supervisor of the Tower Two Intensive Care Units, which included medical, surgical and trauma intensive care units. A native of Chicago, Colleen returned to the city in 2010 when she joined Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse in the Cardiothoracic Transplant Intensive Care Unit. It was here that she cultivated her knowledge and passion for cardiac nursing.

Colleen is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is active in her community on the north side of Chicago.
