Biographical Sketch:

Eileen is the heart valve nurse coordinator within Northwestern’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. She assists in the coordination of care for patients undergoing surgery for valvular heart disease in the inpatient and outpatient settings. 

After graduating from Loyola University in 2005, Eileen began her career in Loyola University Medical Center’s Burn Intensive Care Unit. In her role as charge nurse she was accountable for decision making related to delegation, efficient use of resources and focus on quality and efficiency for improvement within the workplace. Her certifications include Trauma Nurse Specialist, Advanced Burn Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor.
In 2011, Eileen accepted the clinical research nurse position within the Clinical Trials Unit at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. In this role, she provided coordination of multi-center research trials in interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, electrophysiology and cardiac surgery. Eileen accepted the position of heart valve nurse coordinator in October of 2012.
