Biographical Sketch:

Jane is an atrial fibrillation coordinator for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She coordinates care for patients having procedures to treat atrial fibrillation in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Jane has worked with cardiac arrhythmia patients for over 20 years.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1982, Jane worked as a staff nurse in telemetry units and the cardiac catheterization lab at Sinai Samaritan Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was also a critical care staff educator at Sinai Samaritan Hospital and then St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee before moving to Chicago in 1990. Jane started as a staff nurse in the electrophysiology laboratory at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in and over the next 14 years served in a variety of roles involving patient care, patient and staff education, research and administrative responsibilities.

In 2004, Jane joined the cardiac surgery team as a staff nurse in the operating room. She accepted the position of Atrial Fibrillation Nurse Coordinator in 2005. She provides education and clinical support to patients and families and assists with the Cardiac Surgery Outcomes database.

Jane is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Heart Association's Council on Cardiovascular Nursing. She has lectured locally and nationally and co-authored publications on a variety of topics related to cardiac arrhythmias.
