Biographical Sketch:

Kristin is a nurse practitioner in cardiothoracic surgery for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She works with patients while in the hospital (cardiothoracic intensive care unit and step-down unit) facilitating postoperative management and care. Her areas of special interest include heart failure, cardiac transplantation and patient education.

Kristin received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Michigan after which she began working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a staff nurse in the coronary care unit. She returned to school and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Michigan. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
