Pam is an atrial fibrillation coordinator for the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Center for Atrial Fibrillation. She assists in coordinating care for patients with atrial fibrillation in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Pam has worked with cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heart beat) patients for four years.
After graduating from Northern Illinois University Pam worked in the home health arena taking care of patients who had complex medical needs which required intravenous therapy. She went on to health care management in the areas of skilled nursing, home health and hospice, eventually serving as an administrator and director of programs in these areas. An area of particular interest to Pam during this time was performance improvement. An area of particular interest to Pam during this time was performance improvement. Performance improvement is the analysis and modification of a process (a particular way of completing a task) with the goal of increasing the effectiveness of the process.
In 2005 Pam joined the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute as a nurse clinician working with the cardiac electrophysiologists (cardiologists who specialize in diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias). She transferred into her current role as an atrial fibrillation coordinator in July 2009.
