Susan Tafini is a nurse practitioner with the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute in the Heart Failure /Heart Transplant program. She obtained her bachelor of science in Nursing degree from Wright State University in 1998. Her first role as a nurse was on a telemetry unit at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. After gaining a year of experience, Susan took her first contract as a traveling nurse. The next four years Susan had the opportunity to travel across the United States working three to six month assignments for different telemetry and step down units. Susan’s final travel nursing assignment was in Hawaii. Through these experiences she developed a clinical interest in educating patients on a healthy lifestyle and wellness.
Susan moved to Chicago to pursue her master’s degree at Rush University while working in the cardiac catheterization lab at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Upon graduation in April of 2009 Susan accepted her current position with the Center for Heart Failure as an advance practice nurse.
