Experienced pharmacists in the Infectious Disease Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are available to help you with your medication. As part of your health care team, the pharmacist can help you maximize the benefit of your medications, minimize side effects and help you make informed decisions regarding your therapy.

• Medication Counseling including:

  • Administration—the best way to take your medications
  • Side effects—how to identify and manage them
  • Drug interactions—how to identify and manage them
  • Storage—how to store medications to prolong usefulness

• Drug interaction assessment

• Organize your medication plans                          

• Provide written information about your medications, diagnosis and its therapy

• Answer questions about prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and alternative therapies such as herbal remedies and vitamins

Personal counseling services are available to Infectious Disease Center patients by appointment during clinic hours.
