Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Clinic

The Walk-In STD Clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital provides confidential consultation, testing and treatment by an infectious disease specialist.

We offer evaluation and testing for the following Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs):

  • HIV (the virus that causes AIDS)
  • Gonorrhea
  • Syphilis
  • Herpes simplex virus
  • Genital condyloma (warts)
  • Chlamydia
  • Hepatitis

The most common symptoms are burning while using the bathroom, discharge, itching or a sore in the genital area (penis, vagina or anus).

Some people have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. That is why it is important to be tested even if you do not have any symptoms, but think you have been exposed to an STD.
