Clinical Trials

Patients come to Northwestern Memorial to have their transplant for many reasons, one of which is our world-class transplant research program. Northwestern Memorial physicians are participating in a National Institutes of Health (NIH) consortium studying islet cell transplants for patients for whom optimization of insulin therapy has failed. The research team also is involved in several clinical research trials to evaluate new anti-rejection medicines in hopes of refining prednisone-free pancreas transplant techniques.
