Northwestern Memorial Named Among Top Companies for Executive Women
Hospital honored by National Association for Female Executives for the second consecutive year
The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has named Northwestern Memorial HealthCare among the NAFE Top 50 companies and 10 Nonprofits for Executive Women for the second year in a row. Northwestern Memorial is among an elite group of nonprofits to make the list, which recognizes organizations who have established policies to encourage women’s advancement, and whose practices demonstrate that commitment.
“We are honored to once again be recognized for our commitment to supporting a culture where women are encouraged to advance their careers and make substantial contributions to the organization,” said Dean L. Manheimer, senior vice president, human resources at Northwestern Memorial. “We have a long-standing commitment to providing programs that help women achieve a work-life balance while thriving in their careers.”
Programs and benefits at Northwestern Memorial include career development, quarterly women’s leadership networking events and mentoring programs, on-site childcare, tuition reimbursement and flexible scheduling.
In addition to assessing corporate programs and policies dedicated to advancing women, NAFE examined the number of women in each company overall, in senior management roles and on its board of directors. NAFE drew particular attention to the number of women with profit-and-loss responsibility.
Northwestern Memorial’s workforce is comprised of 77 percent women. The hospital has also been recognized as one of the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers by Working Mother magazine for 11 consecutive years.
NAFE will honor the Top Companies at a luncheon at in New York City on March 30.
