Affliated Organizations
Northwestern Memorial Foundation is privileged to collaborate with several fundraising partners, our affiliated organizations, which host special events to help fund education, research and clinical programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Dedicated volunteers from these organizations donate their time and energy to advance the important work of Northwestern’s medical and research staffs and to help realize the hospital’s mission.
For more information, or to make a donation to any of these fine organizations, please contact Northwestern Memorial Foundation at 312-926-2033.
The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Founded in 1987, The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital is composed of a group of young professionals and future community leaders who raise funds to support research programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary Board has committed more than $1 million dollars to enhance treatment for Northwestern Memorial’s patients and their families through a host of patient care initiatives, including: the Ambulatory Spine Program, Bone Marrow Transplant, Comprehensive Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment, Functional Neurosurgery, Prostate Cancer Gene Therapy, and Women’s Health. The Auxiliary Board recently pledged its support to the neurosciences program to advance an issue that is growing in prevalence—the research and treatment of brain tumors.
Friends of Prentice
Founded in 1986, Friends of Prentice has raised more than $14 million to Prentice Women's Hospital in support of a full circle of initiatives including clinical and basic science research in gynecologic oncology. In addition, the organization has provided funding for the Friends of Prentice Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the Institute for Women’s Health Research and capital support for the building of the new Prentice. In recognition of the generosity of Friends of Prentice, the fifth floor in the new Prentice has been named the Friends of Prentice Floor for Outpatient Testing and Women’s Programs.
The Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation
Dedicated to the courageous spirit of Lynn Sage, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation (LSCRF) affiliated with Northwestern Memorial in 1991 in a joint mission to advance the understanding, research and treatment of breast cancer. Since that time, LSCRF has contributed more than $20 million to support hospital programs, to fund numerous fellowships in breast cancer treatment and research and to create the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center. Located on the fourth floor of the new Prentice, the breast center provides a broad range of patient services including screening and diagnostic mammograms and breast cancer risk assessment to more than 60,000 patients a year.
The Service League of Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Founded in 1972, The Service League of Northwestern Memorial Hospital provides funds to support patient-focused projects, including the Patient/Family Assistance Fund, the Expressive Arts Therapy Program, the Stone Institute of Psychiatry Outpatient Housing Program, the Near North Health Service Corporation, the Layette Program, Emergency Room Assistance through Case Management and the Advancement of Nursing Education. By lending generous support to this wide range of initiatives, The Service League has helped many different patient populations as well as the surrounding community.
The Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Founded in 1897 as Passavant Woman's Aid Society, the Woman's Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital continues its proud tradition of dedicated service and philanthropic support. In December of 2004, The Woman's Board made a $2.5 million pledge over five years to Enhancing our lives: The Northwestern Memorial Campaign. Funding from the board’s campaign pledge has been channeled in a number of directions. Half of the funds were utilized to build and name the 14th floor in the new Prentice as The Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital Floor for Women’s Care. Remaining funds from the board’s campaign pledge support the Eleanor Wood-Prince Grant Initiative and designated women’s health programs in addition to a research or patient care initiative selected by the board on an annual basis. Among these initiatives are The Comprehensive Support Program for Brain Tumor Patients and Families at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Research on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Heart Disease in Women.
