 - Northwestern Memorial Hospital - Chicago

Osteoporosis, or brittle bone disease, can develop at any age. This major health threat is detected in millions of American women and men each year, with many more found to have low bone mass, a condition that indicates a significant risk of developing the disease. Osteoporosis is responsible for more than a million bone fractures every year.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital provides a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to address bone health issues through specialized clinical services, physician and community education, and clinical research. Ours was one of the first hospitals in the United States to provide all its hip-fracture and minimal trauma fracture patients with osteoporosis evaluation and care.

Outpatient services include office consultations with specialists and a dedicated intravenous infusion area.
