Spreading the word about ovarian cancer is an important step in preventing the disease. The more people know about ovarian cancer, its symptoms, and prevention, the more women will be saved.

At Northwestern Memorial, it is our goal to get the word out to as many people as possible, so we’d like to share some additional ovarian cancer resources on the Web.

They believe in the beauty and strength of women. It exists to enlighten and empower high risk individuals to take control of their breast and ovarian health by providing education, support and a sense of community for a better, brighter future.

The Chicago Center for Jewish Genetic Disorders is a critical effort to provide public and professional education and to empower community members to seek out information and prevention strategies.

FORCE – Facing our Risk of Cancer Empowered

Their mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer.

Gilda’s Club of Chicago

Their mission is to create welcoming communities of free support for everyone living with cancer—men, women, teens and children—along with their families and friends. Their innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities.

The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation

Their mission is to provide women with knowledge about the risks, prevention, early detection and treatment of gynecologic cancer and empower them to become the best advocates for their health. The Foundation also funds promising research. They also host the Web site Women's Cancer Network.

National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute is a government-run organization dedicated to researching and curing cancer and educating the public.

OROC – OutRun Ovarian Cancer

OROC is dedicated to creating an active community of hope and empowerment for those touched by ovarian cancer through awareness, education and early detection. OROC strives to put a new face on ovarian cancer—one of hope and encouragement.

The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance

Their mission is to conquer ovarian cancer by uniting individuals and organizations in a national movement.

Their mission is to promote and ensure the highest quality of comprehensive clinical care through excellence in education and research in gynecologic cancers.
