Biography

Ankit Bharat, MD is a thoracic surgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, and the Surgical Director of Lung Transplant.

Dr. Bharat has received recognition for his work in transplantation and tumor immunology.  His present research is focused on the mechanism of lung graft dysfunction following transplant. 

He's an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant and the Association for Academic Surgery.
