Victoria Buchanan, M.D., considers communication and careful follow-up key components of good medical care. She encourages patients to participate in their own healthcare decisions, and helps them make informed decisions through ongoing education.
A diplomate of and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Buchanan earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and went on to serve as Chief Medical Resident at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Her clinical interests include geriatrics, hypertension, preventive medicine, and women's health.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Buchanan is an instructor at the Northwestern University School of Medicine. She is actively involved in educating residents and medical students.
Dr. Buchanan is popular amongst more than her patients and students. The press likes her, too. U.S. News and World Report named Dr. Buchanan a "Top Doctor" in 2012, and Chicago magazine chose her as a Top Doctor for Women in 2010.
