Biography
Alexandru B. Chicos, MD is an attending cardiologist specializing in cardiac electrophysiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and an assistant professor of medicine and cardiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His areas of clinical interest include arrhythmia ablation, atrial fibrillation, prevention of sudden death and cardiac resynchronization. Dr. Chicos is a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.
Dr. Chicos completed his internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and his cardiology fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then completed a combined research and clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Northwestern University.
His bibliography includes several book chapters and original research articles. He has presented multiple research abstracts at national meetings. Dr. Chicos was selected as a finalist for the Samuel A. Levine Young Investigator Award at the November, 2008 American Heart Association Scientific Sessions for his research of the autonomic nervous system effects on the heart.
He is an active member of the American Heart Association and the Heart Rhythm Society. His goal is to provide the best advice and the most appropriate and effective treatment, while placing the patient's unique medical situation and needs first.
