Biography
Dr. DasGupta is a member of the Division of Cardiology at Northwestern Memorial and an associate professor of Clinical Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine.
He is involved in several research initiatives, studying cardiac rehabilitation and preventive cardiology, autonomic testing in cardiovascular disorders, preventative cardiology in minority patients, and standardized patients and computer applications in medical education.
A recipient of many awards, Dr. DasGupta was named Teacher of the Year at the Louis A Weiss Memorial Hospital at the University of Chicago Hospitals during the 1994-1995 year. He has also been honored by the American Heart Association, the National Institutes of Health, and the Chicago Heart Association.
A member of 11 professional and scientific societies, Dr, DasGupta is a fellow at the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the Canadian Royal College of Physicians. He is also active in academic cardiology as he has held editorships for several medical journals and publications in addition to reviewing manuscripts for seven leading medical journals.
Dr. DasGupta attended medical school at India's Calcutta University and completed his residency and fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is board certified in the United States in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, and completed subspecialty examinations in internal medicine with the Royal College of Physicians in England and Canada. He is also licensed to practice medicine in India and the United Kingdom.
