Biography

Dr. Farmer is a cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. His interest is in general cardiology, preventive cardiology, and echocardiography.

Dr. Farmer is an assistant professor at both Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Kellogg School of Management. He is a recipient of previous grant support from the British government, the American College of Cardiology, and the National Institutes of Health. His research addresses issues of access, quality, and cost of cardiovascular care.

Dr. Farmer is a member of a number of professional societies, including the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Physicians. He reviews articles for several major medical journals. He is on the research and publications committee of one of the large national cardiovascular registries.

Dr. Farmer attended medical school at the Yale University School of Medicine and received his PhD from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in Health Services Research & Policy. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and echocardiography.
