Biography
Dr. Lori Gawron is a physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a clinical instructor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar through the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
Dr. Gawron received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2006. She completed Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital in 2010 and remained at Northwestern for a fellowship in Family Planning and Contraception until 2012. She also completed a Masters in Public Health through Northwestern University’s Graduate School in 2012.
Dr. Gawron has research interests in reproductive health access barriers, reproductive decision-making and contraceptive effects in medically-complex women. Her current research focus is on hormonal contraception in women with inflammatory bowel disease.
She is an active member of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The Society of Family Planning, and American Reproductive Health Professionals.
Practice philosophy: “I believe in providing high quality reproductive health care for women in all stages of their lives, through education and partnership in medical decision-making. I plan to use my research to improve the reproductive health of women with chronic medical conditions.”
