Dr. Kalapurakal is an attending radiation oncologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as well as an instructor of clinical radiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Kalapurakal received his medical degree from the University of Kerala in India. He completed his residencies at Erlanger Medical Center, University of Tennessee- Chattanooga and at Albert Einstein Medical Center/Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Kalapurakal is certified by the American Board of Radiology and the Indian Board of Radiology. His special clinical interests include treatment of adult and pediatric brain tumors, pediatric solid tumors and treatment of adult urological malignancies. His basic research interests are in the fields of brachytherapy and hyperthermia in brain tumors and prostate cancer. He has presented and published several clinical and research papers.
