Dr. Koski is an attending neurosurgeon at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as well as an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Northwestern University Medical School's Department of Neurosurgery in Chicago, IL. He also is a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, a prestigious group of medical specialists focused on providing high quality patient care and supporting Feinberg School of Medicine's research and academic efforts.

Dr. Koski received his medical degree from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, in East Lansing, MI. He was a member of the prestigious Medical Scholars program, graduating at the top of his class. He completed his internship in general surgery and neurological surgery residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. In addition, Dr. Koski finished a Complex and Reconstructive Spinal Surgery infolded Fellowship at Northwestern University under mentor Stephen L. Ondra, MD. Under the tutelage of Lawrence G. Lenke, MD, Dr. Koski broadened his expertise in deformity surgery at Washington University in St. Louis during an extended visitation.

Dr. Koski is a member of several important spine organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and Scoliosis Research Society. He has lectured nationally and internationally. He has been an invited lecturer to several prestigious medical organizations including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, The American Association of Neurological Surgeons, The Scoliosis Research Society, The North American Spine Society, and The AANS/CNS joint section on Spine and Peripheral Nerve Disorders. He serves on the board of directors of the ONE Spine organization, as well as on the advisory board for Spinecme.org website for online spine education.

Dr. Koski conducts clinical research focusing on improving outcomes for patients with complex spinal disorders, and has published numerous papers on a wide spectrum of spinal disorders. Dr. Koski and Northwestern have been chosen to be one of only 5 centers across the country to conduct an NIH funded trial investigating adult scoliosis. This will be the largest and only NIH funded trial ever to investigate spinal deformity in adults.

Dr. Koski and his team also conduct a support group at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for patients with adult spinal deformity and those that have had or are in need of complex spinal reconstructions. Dr. Koski has been a key contributor in the development of the Northwestern High Risk Spine protocol, which is a comprehensive multimodality evaluation and clinical pathway aimed at reducing complications in patients undergoing complex spinal surgeries. It is a pioneering effort and the first of its kind in spine surgery.

His clinical interests include adult scoliosis and deformity, sagittal alignment, spinal cord, column and brain tumors, and spinal and brain trauma. Outside medicine, Dr. Koski enjoys skiing, golf, tennis, and running.
