Biography
Dr. Mikati is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. Until recently, he was an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Mikati served as Chief of Non-Invasive Cardiology and the Director of the Echocardiography Lab at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston.
Dr. Mikati specializes in Non-Invasive Cardiology (Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology) with an emphasis in research. He was a past recipient of the Fullbright & Jaworski L.L.P. Faculty Excellence Award: Teaching and Evaluation from Baylor College of Medicine and was awarded the W. Proctor Harvey Young Teacher Award from the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Mikati graduated with distinction from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon with his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and his MD. He completed his Internal Medicine residency, Cardiology fellowship, Echocardiography fellowship, and Post Doctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Mikati is a Diplomat on the Boards of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a founding member of the Heart Valve Society of America. Dr. Mikati is published in several journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Circulation.
