Biography
Dr. Palumbo has been practicing internal medicine for fifteen years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Prior to this, she worked in the engineering field after receiving her Masters of Science degree in Mathematical Physics. Her interest in medicine led her to begin the process of becoming a physician. Dr. Palumbo's practice philosophy is to consider all aspects of a person's life that may have an impact on health. She believes that forming an alliance between doctor and patient is essential to provide optimal health care.
Dr. Palumbo covers all areas of medicine, but will not hesitate to refer to a specialist if necessary. If she does refer, she seeks all reports and updates from specialists to coordinate their input and to provide continuity. This assures patients that there is a central physician overseeing their comprehensive care and who can identify any gaps that may occur in that care.
Dr. Palumbo has never regretted leaving the engineering field to become a physician.
