Biography
Dr. Rosenow is the Director of Functional Neurosurgery and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Department of Neurosurgery, as well as at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
He specializes in the surgical treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, tremor, and dystonia, as well as the surgical treatment of epilepsy and chronic pain. Other areas of expertise include stereotactic surgical and imaging techniques and image guided surgery, as well as functional brain mapping.
After graduating from Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Rosenow finished his neurosurgical training at New York Medical College. He completed a fellowship in stereotactic, functional, and restorative neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
He was awarded the 2003 Ronald Tasker award for pain research by The Joint Section on Pain of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He was one of the members of the team that developed frameless deep brain stimulation surgery and has continued to be an innovator in this area.
Dr. Rosenow currently serves as the Chair of the Joint Section on Pain of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the American Association of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and holds a leadership position in the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies and has been elected a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Rosenow is also a frequent lecturer at national neurosurgical meetings.
