Biography
Dr. Rosenthal is a cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital specializing in general cardiology, non-invasive electrophysiology and pacemaker evaluation and trouble-shooting.
Dr. Rosenthal attended medical school at New York Medical College in New York, New York. After graduating in 1974, Dr. Rosenthal completed his internship and residency at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He also conducted his fellowship at Upstate Medical University from 1977 until 1980, performing research in basic cardiac cellular electrophysiology with Drs. Gregory Ferrier and Gordon Moe at the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory.
Dr. Rosenthal's medical interests include cardiac cellular electrophysiology, electrocardiograms (ECG) and pacemakers, as well as general cardiology. He conducts research and clinical trials in acute coronary syndromes and ECG. He also has extensive experience in pacemaker patient care, including troubleshooting, follow-up, and programming.
In addition to practicing cardiac medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Jesse Brown VA hospitals, Dr. Rosenthal is committed to education as an associate professor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He has received the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence for Full-Time Clinical Faculty and the Northwestern Cardiology Fellows' Teacher of the Year award. He continues to teach general cardiology, electrocardiography, cellular electrophysiology and pacemaker technology to students and staff.
Dr. Rosenthal is the former chief of the VA Lakeside cardiology section and is the former acting chief of Northwestern's ECG center. He is a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
