Biography
Michael A. Terry graduated from the University of Illinois with honors with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a concentration in Bio-Engineering. He then attended The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where he again graduated with honors. He received the top honor in surgical specialties and in clinical medicine and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha while there.
Dr. Terry attended Cornell's prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery for residency. While at HSS he was part of a team that was awarded what is considered by many to be the most coveted research award in shoulder surgery, The Neer Award. Dr. Terry traveled to Vail for his sports medicine fellowship at the renowned Steadman Hawkins clinic.
Dr. Terry joined the faculty at The University of Chicago prior to coming to Northwestern. While at U of C Dr. Terry has continued to perform research and maintain a very busy practice in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. At U of C the medical school students selected Dr. Terry as their Favorite Faculty Member.
Dr. Terry is currently one of the team physicians for Northwestern Athletics and is the Head Team physician for The Chicago Blackhawks. He is also a team physician for the gold medal winning US Olympic volleyball team and The US Ski Team.
