Biography
Dr. Vassallo is an assistant professor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.
Dr. Vassallo specializes in echocardiography and preventive cardiology. Her research interests include evaluating dyssynchrony by echocardiography in patients with chronic heart failure. She is also interested in investigating alternative therapies for lipid lowering in patients at high risk for the development of coronary artery disease.
Dr. Vassallo received her Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Professional Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. She then received her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago. She then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Rush University where she served as a Chief Cardiology fellow. She is board certified in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and internal medicine.
