Biography
Dr. Wax is a cardiologist and pediatric cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern Unversity's Feinberg School of Medicine and the clinical practice director of cardiology at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is also a consultant to the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation.
Dr. Wax has given lectures to the American Heart Association's Parents Forum and the Chicago Medical Society. His research initiatives include studies of the Amplatzer transcatheter atrial septal occluder and troponin elevation after cardiac catheterization/radiofrequency ablation.
He has served on the Radiation Safety Committee, the Cardiac Services Quality Assurance Committee, the Information Management Committee and the Adult Care Committee of the Children's Memorial Hospital. He is also a national proctor for the Amplatzer device.
Dr. Wax has also served as assistant chief of Pediatric Cardiology at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and a part-time instructor of Clinical Pediatrics at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. He has been director of Interventional Catheterization and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Children's Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Wax attended medical school at the State University of New York- Brooklyn. He completed both his pediatric internship and residency at Albert Einstein Hospitals in Bronx, New York. He conducted fellowships at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and the Hospital for Sick Children in Canada. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
