Dr. Yaghmai is an associate professor of Radiology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and medical director of computed tomography (CT) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His research interests are in new CT applications such as 3D- and 4D-imaging and image processing as well as image transfer and remote medical imaging consultation. He has been the author or co-author of over 100 scientific papers, abstracts, exhibits, and textbook chapters in radiology.

He has served as faculty for the Radiological Society of North America and the American Roentgen Ray. He has also served as a consultant to the American Medical Association. He has been a key speaker at various seminars where he has presented on topics such as coronary CT angiography, CT technology, oncologic imaging and image processing. He has written extensively on the topics such as helical CT, oncologic imaging, and remote imaging consultation. Dr. Yaghmai has extensive experience in cardiovascular and abdominal imaging.
