Dr. Elizabeth Yerkes became Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2009. An attending pediatric urologist at Children's Memorial Hospital since 2005, Dr. Yerkes specializes in reconstruction of complex congenital anomalies, medical and surgical management of neurogenic bladder, disorders of sex development, hypospadias, and pediatric and adolescent vaginal anomalies and urogynecologic concerns.

Upon completing medical school and urology residency training at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Yerkes moved on to a fellowship in pediatric urology at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, an affiliate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is a veteran of both the United States Air Force Reserves and Naval Reserves, with four years of active duty service at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. Dr. Yerkes has taken part in a pediatric urology humanitarian mission to Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa, Hondouras (2005), and owns numerous academic awards and achievements including graduating summa cum laude from Bowdoin College, receiving the Air Force Achievement Medal and being named the Pfizer Scholar in Urology at both Vanderbilt University and Indiana University Medical School.

Dr. Yerkes is a member of several urologic societies, such as the American Urological Association (AUA), the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Urology, the Society for Pediatric Urology and the Society for Fetal Urology. Dr. Yerkes also participates in North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and is a member of the Professional Advisory Council of the Spina Bifida Association. Active in academic urologic publications, Dr. Yerkes is a reviewer for the Journal of Urology and serves on the Editorial Board for Dialogues in Pediatric Urology.
