Esophageal resection volume
An esophageal resection the removal of part or all of the esophagus to treat cancer or high-grade dysplasia. It is also known as an esophagectomy. Dysplasia is abnormal development or growth of tissue.
An esophageal resection is a procedure that requires proficiency. Higher volumes have been associated with better quality of care.
