Parent Satisfaction
Parent involvement in their baby's care is important to the baby's overall health and well being, so it is our goal to encourage parents to be a part of their baby's healthcare team whenever possible. We want parents to feel their babies are getting the best possible care, and to make sure that happens, we survey parents in an effort to learn what we are doing well and where we need to improve.
Our parent satisfaction measures related to newborn care are:
Parent Satisfaction
- How prepared you felt for your baby's discharge
- How well your baby's physician included you in decisions about your baby's care
- Nurses' encouragement of your participation in your baby's care when possible (bathing, feeding, temperature taking, Kangaroo Care)
- Nurses' support of mother's efforts to breastfeed (if applicable)
- Overall rating of care given to your baby
- Privacy available at your baby's bedside
- Parent Satisfaction: likelihood to recommend the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
