Overview
The Radiation Oncology Center performs nearly 21,000 cancer treatment procedures per year using state-of-the-art equipment and serves as the chief pediatric radiation oncology referral center for Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital. The Center treats:
- Brain tumors and arteriovenous malformations using the Gamma Knife
- Other tumors using Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
- Gynecological and genitourinary malignancies using either external beam irradiation or intracavitary implant
- Cancers of the head and neck, lymphomas, and lung and breast cancers
