Overview

Radiology is the study of pictures of the human body. X-rays were the first way to view the inside of the body without making an incision. Now in modern times, there are many tools used in radiology to view the body.

The Department of Radiology provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, and interventional (minimally invasive radiology) services. Imaging techniques available include state-of-the-art computed radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, mammography and diagnostic angiography.

We work in partner with several departments to offer non-invasive and minimally invasive imaging to screen, diagnose, provide interventional therapy and treat diseases and conditions.

Inpatient Services

The Inpatient Radiology Department is a 24-hour imaging service available in the hospital. Imaging services can also be performed at the patient's bedside using mobile radiographic equipment, in surgical suites through the use of mobile fluoroscopic (C-arm) units, as well as in the Emergency Department, recovery room and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Medical imaging procedures are performed by adapting the variable technical parameters of the procedure to the condition of the patient, assuring minimal radiation exposure to patients and personnel.

Outpatient Services

Radiology provides complete outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures. Comprehensive radiography (x-ray) is available for skeletal, abdominal, chest, genitourinary (GU) and gastrointestinal (GI) diagnostic testing. CT and MRI scans of the brain and body and abdominal and musculoskeletal Ultrasound are available. A physician order is required for all procedures.
