Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Lake Forest Hospital Sign Letter of Intent
Lake Forest Hospital and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare announced today that they have signed a Letter of Intent to move into a period of exclusive discussions regarding a potential affiliation to form an integrated health care delivery system. Northwestern Memorial HealthCare is the corporate parent of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Together, Lake Forest Hospital and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare wish to continue to improve quality, enhance access and accelerate the building of the preeminent academic medical center for Chicago, Lake County and surrounding regions. The new health system will benefit all residents, regardless of their ability to pay, by giving them increased access to physicians, clinical trials and Northwestern University research programs as well as integrated primary, secondary and advanced tertiary services from a system that encompasses:
- Hospitals that have been chosen year after year by consumers in their respective communities as their Most Preferred Hospital with best doctors, best nurses and overall image and reputation and best overall quality of care in National Research Corporation’s annual survey
- Ten nationally ranked clinical programs by US News & World Report
- Physicians on the faculty of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine; one of the top 20 medical schools in the nation.
Due to the confidential nature of the discussion, additional details are not available at this time.
