Clinical Trials

Northwestern Memorial Hospital, along with the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, is dedicated to research and learning, which involves evaluating cutting-edge drugs, therapies and devices.

About Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies in which new treatments are tested to determine whether they have potential benefits for patients.

Participants in clinical trials are closely monitored throughout the course of the research trial by dedicated physicians and scientists, called principal investigators. A wide range of clinical trials at Northwestern Memorial offer treatments and therapies not generally available to patients. These trials take place under very stringent scientific and medical guidelines.

Many participants in clinical trials have reported that helping others is important to them and the additional care and attention they receive during the course of the trial may benefit them, as well as further scientific and medical research, both now and in the future.
