Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Kovler Organ Transplantation Center conducts several clinical trials to learn how to improve organ transplantation.

Current Clinical Trials

Kidney Transplantation  

Northwestern Memorial physicians are participating in a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to identify a non-invasive marker for transplant rejection. Our physicians are also involved in several clinical research trials to:

• Improve the long-term function of transplanted kidneys
• Evaluate new anti-rejection medicines
• Refine the techniques involved in prednisone-free kidney transplants
• Create desensitization protocols for patients who may have developed antibodies that can cause transplant rejection
