Organ Transplantation
Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Kovler Organ Transplantation Center conducts several clinical trials to learn how to improve organ transplantation.
Current Clinical Trials
Northwestern Memorial physicians are participating in a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to identify a non-invasive marker for transplant rejection. Our physicians are also involved in several clinical research trials to:
- Improve the long-term function of transplanted kidneys
- Evaluate new anti-rejection medicines
- Refine the techniques involved in prednisone-free kidney transplants
- Create desensitization protocols for patients who may have developed antibodies that can cause transplant rejection
