Northwestern Medicine's Weight Loss Surgery Program is designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). It is the only program at Northwestern Medicine with this designation that is awarded to comprehensive programs with a proven record of favorable outcomes for weight-loss surgery.
We offer a variety of surgical weight loss procedures, with an emphasis on minimally invasive or laparoscopic surgery, including:
- Sleeve gastrectomy
- Roux-en-Y gastric bypass
- Adjustable gastric banding (LAPBAND® and REALIZE™)
